February
Brighter Days.Heck can you believe it January has been and gone and here we are in February already. It ent half been cold hasn't it (see picture in the Gallery ) I hate to think what the electric and gas bill is going to be. I'm hoping the winter fuel payment is going to cover it. Hopefully those very cold days are gone for this winter.Hey it?s light till gone five now and mornings are getting a little better too.Anyone who suffers from that SAD condition must be feeling a little more cheery now we?re coming out of the dark days.Cheer me up.One thing that cheers me up is seeing the first signs of life in the garden. Walking down to the village yesterday I saw my first snowdrops on an easterly sloping piece of ground. Ours are nearly out, another day or two and they?ll be in full bloom.Have you seen any lambs yet? They should cheer everyone up seeing them running and frolicking around. I?ve seen some, a couple of miles from here there?s a farm with some in a field which I pass by quite frequently. The Village. What?s happened to the farmers markets? It maybe just where we live but when it?s the time of the month for the market day to be the one for the farmers to come, we?re lucky if we get any farmers turning up. Last week there was just one stall selling Bowland Pork.I don?t know if you?ll remember me telling you about a year ago we had this new café open in the square, well it?s still going but I don?t know where the customers come from, there?s never anybody about most days.Someone else is going to have a go at a business in the square. Next to the café a house has had its front transformed into a shop window, see the photograph in the Gallery. No one seems to know what it?s going to be used for yet. If I find out, or if it opens for business I?ll let you know on here when I do next months Popical.
